omg I have the same problem. BOTH of my parents (and their spouses as they are divorced) feed my kids whatever they want. Cookies, Chips…etc.
My kids are not overweight tho..my daughter will be 3 in August and she is exactly 30 lbs.

Just keep doing what you are doing, sounds like you are pretty much on the right track. As long as she is eating healthy, drinkingplenty of water and stays active, she will be fine.

Try finding a college student who can watch your child for a reasonable hourly rate. Leave specific instructions on what to feed her, no sweets of junk food. If that’s not affordable, try cracking down hard on your family for her overweight condition. If they care for her, they will stop. Right now their teaching her that food is love.

Best of luck!

your problem is that you left your child with a male. it doesn’t matter if that male is your father.(i am not being sexist)the reason that i am saying that is because men don’t care what they eat and they definately don’t eat healthy. also don’t deprive your daughter from snacks or else she will develop an obsession with them and when she gets older, she could start stealing your money to get snacks from vending machines. what you should do is that she gets one 100 calorie snack pack a day. you should hide the the snacks somewhere that she would never look, like your sock drawer and you should give your family a list of what not to feed her.

Have a talk with your family first and explain your concerns. Blame the doctor if needed “She is overweight which can lead to severe health problems according to Dr. So and So.”, don’t have any junk food in the house when whomever comes to watch her, and make sure they do something physical every day….a walk around the block, playing with a ball outside, running through the sprinkler, going to a park. Anything.

When she goes to your dads on the weekend pack all the food she should need and add a healthy snack like carrot sticks or low fat cheese cubes if she eats all her good food. Tell your dad she can’t have junk food

Talk to your parents and ask why they cannot honor your wishes as the parent. If you wish that your daughter doesn’t have snacks between meals, they should respect that. This is a serious lack of respect for you and harmful for your child.

I’m guessing that this is futile and they are just going to continue. I would lie and tell them she’s borderline diabetic. If this continues, she will have to go on insulin. While I **** lying, it sounds like it will take something drastic to get their attention. Type up a strict diet you wish for her to follow or just send all the food with her to them. Good luck!
