I have two recommendations for you - one I have used, and one I have now.

Birth control pills (even low-dose kinds) made me gain weight, so when I voiced my concerns about that to my GYN, she suggested I start on the NuvaRing. It’s a ring that you insert into your ****** for 3 weeks, and take out on your 4th week to have your period. It worked great, I didn’t have any weight gain at all, and it was very convenient.

About 2 or 3 years ago, I had stopped the NuvaRing and had an IUD inserted (Mirena). I haven’t had any weight gain on this either, but do have some breakthrough bleeding when I’m not on my period (although very rare and light). It can be kept in for up to 5 years (Paragard can be used up to 10 years). When you’d like to have children, they can remove it.

Although I share your enthusiasm and want for a natural contraceptive, unfortunately to regulate your periods, you would have to be on a synthetic hormone. You can talk to your doctor to see if they have any thoughts.

Hope this helped!
