i think there are several herbs such as black cohosh, but experimental studies have shown that their effectiveness may be doubtful, especially when compared to the benefits and effectiveness of medical hormones. Additionally, medical hormones are subjected to rigorous tests by licensed physicians and are regulated by the FDA, while natural herbal cures are not regulated by anyone. That is something to consider since some herbs can be just as powerful as medicine when it comes to causing bad side effects.

Check out this site, it has some great information.

I used Remifemin which contains Black Cohosh. Worked really well with no side effects.

While these aren’t natural treatments, they are not hormones either. You may want to ask your doctor about clonidine or neurontin to help with your hotflashes. Otherwise go to an herbalist, they may be able to help you.

the hormones, though have been reported to be a catalyst to somes cancers, is not that dangerous, they will monitor you, & to be safe take also the progesterone, if th e dr tells you its needed.

Soy products are rich in ingrediants for menopausal women. & if you go to Swanson.com , they can really assist you as to what herbs to take & have very reasonable prices.

Black currant oil ,,or evening primrose oil capsules, & many other things are out there, but get a health expert to help you.

Meanwhile, carry something you can use as a fan. & Drinking LOTS of ice water helps.

hrt also protects you against certain cancers and the ones that it ups you against are a small amount. Personally I would use the Hrt also I would go and see a gynoco;ogot or womens health nurse T THE CLINIC AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU INFORMED ADVICE RATHERTHAN SCAREMUNGERONG ARTICALS. My mum has been on Hrt for 20 years and other older members of my family have been to for over 15 years and not one developed cancer. Herbal stuff doesnt work very well and isnt proven however hrt is and this is a quaility of life decsion and doesnt stop you taking asprin or pain killers and they have side effects or health problems they can cause to. Just balance everything up but through my familys experience I would go for the hrt.

At 24, you should have refused a Hysterectomy. Sorry babe, no offense, I know how people trust! How could you let him do that to you? Did you have some other condition that you haven’t mentioned? U’re screwed now. U could try black cohosh (herb found in most menopausal remedies off the shelf) I had “excessive bleeding” after my son was born (at 30) & my doctor wanted to do that to me, or as he called it “scrapping my uterus” say what you m—– f—–!!!! And he said, “Well, when you can’t stand the pain anymore, let me know! I’m 50 yrs old and I’m O.K. I never said anything about any pain, I just went because I was told that bleeding was abnormal. I was anemic, yea, but that was no reason to cut me up. I recovered on my own. Those hysterectomies have been overused; ladies, DO NOT LET ANYONE CUT ON YOU WITHOUT CHECKING FIRST. THESE DOCTORS are as bad as Lawyers, they just want to make MONEY. They CODE it to your insurance company. People get fired if they don’t go along with the scam, that’s why I dropped it in tech school; I found out what it really was. Honest people don’t have a chance. Back and Knee surgery is just as bad; for all you guys out there; don’t let anyone cut on you; u are just another guinea pig, just like us women. If anyone out there knows any better, let them speak up, I dare you. People need to speak up, talk about what has happened to you. That’s the only way things will change. We are entitled to our free speech; people are dying for it everyday! Don’t you people see the news? or are u just too busy being cool?
